A (not so) worthwhile dish
Today, I went out and bought some items for a dish. I didn't know what I was going to put together yet, but I had a plant-based meal in mind. In the end, I grabbed some lettuce, an apple, and some cheese from a Makro. The people seemed cold, but that's to be expected amidst another wave of this damned pandemic. I got to my dorm, supplies in hand, and started thinking. I pictured the greens as a "fan" whilst apple slices were arranged elegantly in the center, stretching outwards akin to a star. The cheese could be used as decoration if the dish was looking a little too dull. My hands got to work, paving the way for my desired image. First, I discarded the stems from the leaves and scattered them around a plate. Then, I sliced through the apple's velvet coating and scrumptious flesh, providing them with a final resting place within the dish before the hereafter known as my insatiable hunger welcomed them unto oblivion's harsh embrace. Finally, the cheese was assorted throughout, leaving no one patch of greenery too bleak in comparison to the rest. After I was done, I availed myself of the dish before me. The cheese, lettuce and apple slices tasted like mayonnaise together, killing my mood entirely as I hold an immense grudge for that specific dressing (due to reasons I shall not disclose), forcing me to eat the cheese separately. Overall, I gave the dish a 6/10 solely because of the cheese. If something else usurped its undeserved throne on the dish's hierarchy, I believe it has the potential to get a 7/10 or 8/10 (if viewed as a snack and not a main course.) That day, I learned never to incorporate cheese into any aspect of my life ever again.
